85°C  is one of the few places where you have to wait in line to get bread.  But, they have great cakes too!  They always make light, fluffy cake, and their mousse (especially the fruit ones) are very flavorful.  Although the mangoes were a bit hard and crunchy, the mousse made up for it. The truffle cake was nice and rich with chocolate-y goodness.  The strawberry ones were good too, but they were pretty similar.  I just want to try all their cakes!

Desserts at Whole Foods Market Bakery

Creme Puff

Lemon Four Petite mini lemon cake

Espresso Cup coffee mousse in a semi-sweet chocolate cup topped with a chocolate covered espresso bean

Mini Chocolate Eclair

Hot Chocolate Cup rich chocolate mousse in a semi-sweet chocolate cup topped with marshmallows

When I walked past the petite desserts, all I could think was "WOW.  I NEED TO EAT THOSE."  Sadly, they looked prettier on the display than they tasted...They used same cream in the creme puff and chocolate eclair!  And the cream wasn't even that good.  The coffee mousse in the Espresso Cup was pretty bland.   Had they not put the labelled it "Espresso Cup", I don't think I would have known what it was at all. They were also on the expensive side, about $3-$5 a pop.  The bakery also had cup cakes and cakes sold by the slice and whole which I didn't try.  And of course, they had their gluten-free and vegan choices.
But hey!  Don't they make pretty pictures?
