Magnolia Bakery wasn't actually on our To-Eat-List but we were on our way to Rockefeller and this placed was PACKED! We had to check out what the buzz was all about. We had to bump our way through to the dessert displays.
Blueberry crumble |
This was like a personal mini pie without the crust. But who needs the crust? Heard that's where all the calories are (harhar). The crumble itself was enough to make it wonderful!
Blueberry crumble innards |
The crumble was sweet and the blueberry filling was tart with real blueberries. Kind of like the perfect classic pie.
Red velvet cheesecake |
BAM! Look how vibrant and red the cheesecake is! Blood red, baby. It totally caught our eyes when we were choosing out our desserts.
Red velvet cheesecake |
The cheesecake had a mellow sweetness and the texture was super fluffy.
IT WAS SO FLUFFY WE WERE GOING TO DIE! (harhar)
Red velvet cheesecake |
Anyways, the red velvet flavor was faint but the cheesecake still pulled it off well with its chocolate notes. The bottom crust was nice and thick with a good cookie texture. Reminded us of a reincarnated Oreo who did well in his last life.
Hummingbird cake banana, pineapple and pecan cake with sweet cream cheese icing |
This cake was pretty sweet. There were layers of icing and on top which just made it almost impossible for us to finish. We left this cake for last because we're big fans of banana in desserts, best for last! You could definitely taste the banana and pineapple flavor and the pineapple bits were a nice treat.
When we walked out, we kind of gasped. Everything in Rockefeller Center was lit with lights! With the cold weather, it felt Christmas again. We just want to go back!!
